A couple of months back, I heard that there was a LEGO exhibition! EXCITED MUCH?!!? Obviously I tried to rally people up to go, but the only ones who were free/ interested were KidSisterAmelia and JordanBomberKing.
But uhm, no, it wasn’t by LEGO. It was actually and exhibition called Art of the Brick by Nathan Sawaya. It’s basically large-scale sculptures made entirely from LEGO. It was $15 per entry, $12 on concession. To be honest, I really liked the pieces, I just wish there were more. Especially because Nathan Sawaya has really cool sculptures on his blog! $12-$15 for that small an exhibition wasn’t worth it. They might as well have had it open free to the public. What’s more is that photography was allowed in the exhibition hall… Hmm…

T-Rex

This was cool. It’s called the “Artist’s perception”. How cool that the chest of drawers is made entirely out of LEGO? I want one! I’d feel so strong just by lifting it up. Too bad I won’t be able to put anything too heavy into it though…

This I found really cool, but again, couldn’t justify the amount of money for it. Every played “Where’s Waldo”? Or “Where’s Wally” on the iPhone? This is exactly the same, only, you’re supposed to look for a LEGO character. JordanBK and I stayed in one spot a good twenty minutes just going through the whole book together. ![]()
The Art of the Brick LEGO exhibition is running until October 9th, 2011.
