I’m currently listening to Paramore’s cover of the Foo Fighter’s My Hero. I love that song. I was Skyping with my mom earlier and she asked me why I haven’t been blogging consistently. Apparently her colleagues are asking the same question too, hahaha! Hi guys! I’ve been settling in, and there hasn’t been much to talk about in regards to Frankston. But I’m getting here… ![]()

Last Thursday marked the end of Multicultural Week in Monash Peninsula. A bunch of us from the Overseas Student Society worked all week to set things up and hope everything went well. It carried out pretty smooth and everyone loved the free food and games. There was America & Australia Day, Asia Day, Africa & the Middle East and finally Europe.
The food spread was pretty cool. It ranged form sushi to souvlaki, pizza, lasagne and all that. And of course there was all the beers and wine. I like uni in Australia!
If you follow me on Twitter you probably would have seen photos of belly dancers, sumo wrestling, bike trailing and all that.
So that Sunday following the end of Multicultural Week, we all got together to celebrate the success. Well, maybe we were just looking for a reason to celebrate. Hehe. Plus, the guys just got a new BBQ pit from their neighbor that I’m sure Mr. HoongSek would love! Anyway, the requirements for the BBQ was that EVERYONE had to suit up!

This is Sam. He’s from Japan. And it was his brilliant idea to to suit up. True story.

Look at the grill! It looks like something out of License to GrillI on AFC. Sorry, okay. I know I damn sua ku with the whole grill thing.

The great thing is though, that everyone DID suit up. Well, ALMOST everyone. But the effort was there. I put on a dress and make up and even did my hair on a Sunday afternoon. Not something you’d see me do very often. Especially to a barbecue, with the smell of the food getting onto your clothes and hair. But I have to say, barbecues in winter are heaven!

With Martin (Indonesian) and YongUno (his name’s actually Kim Yongsang), who’s from Korea

LeonPhotopro, GwebtheFAB (Swaziland) , Shayan (Bangladesh) and Sid (Pakistan).

That’s Aleem from India. He’s the OSS director, and Akila from Sri Lanka

And a whole bunch of us including Yukako from Japan, Steven from Singapore, Di from Mexico/Hong Kong and Leyshani from Malaysia.
Talk about a multicultural barbecue, right? It’s like MCW never ended. So cool.
Anyway, peace out! Time to get cracking on my presentations for next week.
xoxo

Don’t you just love good company of friends plus good food? I know we all do! All the best for the presentations you’re having! Much love!
