It’s about time to talk about this. After slightly over a month, voting came to a close, and the winners were decided at a secret location by the five judges for the first every Most Wanted ruumate Competition. The event was held at Upstairs, the LOFT, Asian Heritage Row, which I have to say, I haven’t been to (at night, at least) in about a year!
I rushed over from uni in the afternoon (late) as call time was to be at 2.00pm. I had tummy cramps the size of Russia, while the rest of the finalists and I practiced a little bit of runway, caught up after weeks of not seeing each other (the last time we met up was the Voting Party) and getting hair and make up done. The weather was terribly humid that day, I remember sweating half my make up off during dinner, before the show.
The best supporters in the world! I didn’t manage to snap a photo with Cheems, Jing, ChuiYi, Dharma and Ganesh, who are also the best supporters in the world!Okay, runway time!

Each finalists was given a 60 second time slot to show everyone their “special talent”. Years have gone by, and I honestly haven’t discovered what my special talent is yet! Not under a minute anyway. So when the host for the night, Joey G asked if I really needed a whole 60 seconds, I said I’d take half and did what I do best.

I was really nervous about going up on stage and speaking up. Yes, I was nervous, which is a rather rare thing to happen. But Joey has a tendency of making fun of people on stage sometimes, and I didn’t want to look stupid.
Muka damn tak mantain, I was thinking along the lines of “Oh, God I hope I don’t throw up. Shit, what if my plan backfires?!”
So like I said, I did what I do best… or what I do every weekend anyway.
I toasted to the crowd and downed a pint of Heineken in 8 seconds.

The winners are (girls and guys, respectively):
Most Wanted Ruummate Title: Rachel Beh and Derek Yap
1st Runner Up: Amanda Choe and Kingston Liu
2nd Runner Up: Raeesa Sya and John Lean
Acer Travel Buddy: Pearlyn Sin and Dicky Oscar
Most Stylish Ruummate: Reuben and Raeesa Sya
Most Desired Ruummate: Amanda Choe and Asran Zakry
If you notice, a few finalists (3 girls and 3 guys) didn’t make it for the event. I missed Zak, we could’ve had some Jagerbombs before the show started!
with Ellie
with the Dealer (just in case you were starting to wonder if he didn’t show up) and EllieAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand… I came out in the papers! So awesome! I was lucky enough and managed to bring home two titles and come out in the news! Okay, sorry. A bit jakun, I know. Just layan la.
A big big thank you to everyone who’s helped me the whole way, putting up with constant reminders via Facebook, voting for me every day, supporting me on their blogs and editing videos/photos and being the little subjects in my weekly tasks. I couldn’t have gotten this far without you guys. MAD LOVE!
